Manufacturing Process

Jinjiang Feida Machinery Co., Ltd. operates under an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.Our production process of metal spur gears includes:

1.Raw Material Preparation

Is from original factory and has material certification.

2.Blank Preparation

The two commonly used processes are as follows:

Forging: Is a processing method that uses forging machinery to apply pressure to metal billets, causing them to undergo plastic deformation , thereby obtaining forgings with certain mechanical properties, shapes and sizes.Hot or cold forging improves material density and strength.Process steps include blanking, heating, die forging or free forging, trimming, punching,etc.

Direct cutting from bar stock: It involves cutting directly from round steel, which eliminates the need for molds but results in low material utilization.Suitable for small-batch production or applications with low precision requirements.

3.Gear Blank Machining

The core operation is turning, which finishes the bore, end faces, and outer diameter. For high-precision gears, grinding of the reference surfaces is also required.

4.Tooth Profile Machining

Hobbing: Uses a hob for high-efficiency machining, achieving accuracy grades of ISO/DIN 5-10, and is suitable for batch production of spur and helical gears.

Shaping: A machining process performed with a shaper cutter, suitable for internal gears and other special structural forms.

5.Heat Treatment and Surface Treatment

Processes such as carburizing, quenching, and tempering are applied to increase tooth surface hardness and wear resistance.

6.Finishing

Finishing: After heat treatment, gear grinding is used to eliminate distortion and ensure high accuracy; shaving may be applied before heat treatment as a fine-finishing operation to improve surface finish.

Quality Control

Feida has passed ISO:2015 quality management system certification.We implement a multi-stage Quality Control (QC) system:

Initial Article Inspection (FAI): Full dimensional verification before mass production starts.

In-Process Quality Control (IPQC): Sampling checks every 2–3 hours during the machining process.

100% Final Inspection: Every part undergoes a final check for dimensions and surface finish before packaging.
