Medium-carbon steel worm gears :By high-frequency hardening,surfaces hardness reaches HRC 50-55,cost-effective.

Alloy steel worm wheels:By carburizing and quenching ,surfaces hardness reaches HRC58-62,excellent fatigue resistance.

Worms require high hardness and a smooth surface ,so they are typically made of carbon steel or alloy steel and subjected to heat treatment.The common steel grades include 20CrMnTi,20Cr,45# steel,38CrMoA1,etc.
