CNC Wire-electrode Cutting

CNC wire-electrode cutting from Feida Machinery factory refer to a processing method, Which has developed on the basis of electrical discharge perforation and forming processing. It is a processing method that uses a moving metal wire (molybdenum wire, copper wire or alloy wire) as the electrode wire. By relying on the pulsed electric spark discharge between the electrode wire and the workpiece, high temperatures are generated to melt or vaporize the metal, forming a cut seam, and thus cutting out the part.

Three main types of this technique

1.High-speed wire EDM:It offers a low cost and wide applications but provides moderate accuracy and surface finish.
2.Low-speed wire EDM:It delivers the highest accuracy,reaching ±0.001mm,with excellent surface quality close to grinding. However,machines and operating costs are significantly higher.
3.Medium-speed wire EDM:It provides better accuracy and surface finish than high-speed wire EDM,balancing performance and cost.

Application

CNC wire-electrode cutting is ideal for processing various stamping dies, plastic molds, powder metallurgy molds and cutting various templates, magnetic steel, semiconductor materials, or precious metals.
